FAQ’s

Why here and not a mall drip centre?

Each unit have different layouts and monitoring. All the infusions here are placed and monitored by the doctor. Resuscitation medication and equipment is a standard here and at arm’s length for any type of adverse reaction. The practitioner is also well trained and versed in the treatment of emergencies.

What is the risk of drips?

Any medication or substance given orally or intravenously can have effects and side effect as well as allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. The ability and availability to deal with these must always be a priority as poor management can have severe complications to even death in anaphylaxis. Swelling of an airway can lead to death within minutes if not managed well and advanced airway equipment and skills must be available! Insertion site infection can occur if sterile and aseptic techniques are not followed or adhered to. Fainting and blood pressure drops should be managed appropriately as well to prevent long term complications. The knowledge base to interpret current medication and possible interaction is also a crucial skill provided here.

Is it painful to have a drip?

Most intravenous treatments only involve some discomfort during placement of the IV-canula. The fluid and medication do not cause pain at all. With a skill practitioner placing the IV canula it also reduces the amount of pain experienced during placement.

Can I pick what medication I want?

Yes, and no. Some supplements you can request but certain medication will only be provided if indicated and deemed necessary by the doctor.

What is the price of a treatment?

The cost is dependent on the type of drip, the type and volume of fluid needed, the medications needed and the amounts of medications needed. A broad price list is available but full cost will be discussed after the clinical consult.

How many treatments do I need?

All depends on the various needs and indications for the medication or supplement. These will be discussed at the time of service.
